Data Availability & Reproducibility Policy – EIRA Publisher
EIRA Publisher supports transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data sharing in scholarly research. Authors are encouraged to make research data available to the academic community whenever possible to strengthen the reliability, verification, and reuse of scientific findings.
1. Importance of Data Availability
Research data transparency improves the credibility of scholarly publications and allows other researchers to verify results, replicate experiments, and build upon existing knowledge.
- Enhances research transparency and accountability.
- Supports reproducibility of research findings.
- Facilitates collaboration and future discoveries.
- Improves the reliability of published work.
2. Data Sharing Expectations
Authors are encouraged to share the underlying data supporting their research findings whenever possible. Data may include:
- Experimental datasets
- Statistical analysis files
- Survey responses and research instruments
- Source code or computational scripts
- Images, figures, and supplementary materials
Shared data should be properly documented and described to allow other researchers to understand and reuse the information.
3. Data Availability Statement
All manuscripts submitted to EIRA Publisher should include a Data Availability Statement. This statement should describe how readers can access the data supporting the findings of the study.
Examples of data availability statements include:
- Open Data: “The data supporting the findings of this study are publicly available in an online repository.”
- Restricted Data: “Data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.”
- No Data Generated: “No new datasets were generated or analyzed in this study.”
4. Recommended Data Repositories
Authors are encouraged to deposit datasets in reputable open repositories to ensure long-term accessibility and preservation.
- Zenodo
- Figshare
- Dryad
- Institutional repositories
- Discipline-specific research data archives
Providing a DOI or permanent link to the dataset helps readers locate and cite the research data correctly.
5. Ethical and Legal Considerations
Authors must ensure that data sharing complies with ethical, legal, and privacy regulations.
- Protect confidential or sensitive participant information.
- Remove personally identifiable information from datasets.
- Obtain appropriate consent for data sharing when human participants are involved.
- Follow institutional or funding agency data policies.
6. Reproducibility of Research
Reproducibility is an essential component of scientific integrity. Authors should provide sufficient methodological detail, datasets, and analytical procedures to enable independent researchers to replicate the study results where applicable.
When computational or statistical analysis is used, authors are encouraged to share scripts, algorithms, or software configurations that enable replication.
7. Editorial Oversight
Editors and reviewers may request access to supporting datasets during the peer review process to verify research findings. Authors must be prepared to provide relevant data if requested by the editorial board.
8. Commitment to Open Science
EIRA Publisher supports open science principles and encourages responsible data sharing practices that promote transparency, innovation, and global collaboration in scholarly research.
By submitting a manuscript, authors agree to comply with this Data Availability and Reproducibility Policy.
