Abstract
This study explores the multifaceted impact of Nigerian leadership, security challenges, and social stability on the deaf community in Onitsha amidst the backdrop of the country’s current economic state. Nigeria, a nation marked by diverse socio-political dynamics, faces ongoing challenges that deeply affect its citizens, including marginalized groups like the deaf community. Central to this study is an examination of how governmental leadership, characterized by governance effectiveness and policy implementation, influences the security environment and social stability in Onitsha. The research underscores the critical linkages between leadership decisions, socio-economic conditions, and their ramifications for the deaf community’s well-being and integration. Moreover, the study investigates the security landscape in Onitsha, highlighting its implications for the safety and daily lives of the deaf population. Issues such as crime rates, law enforcement efficacy, and community resilience are analyzed within the context of their direct impact on the deaf community’s sense of security and social inclusion. Furthermore, the concept of social stability emerges as a pivotal theme, reflecting the broader societal harmony and inclusivity that significantly shape the lived experiences of the deaf community. The study examines how economic instability, political unrest, and cultural tensions influence social cohesion and the community dynamics in Onitsha. The study sets the stage for a comprehensive exploration of the interplay between Nigerian leadership dynamics, security challenges, social stability, and their collective influence on the quality of life for the deaf community in Onitsha. By addressing these complexities, the study aims to contribute valuable insights into policy formulation and advocacy efforts aimed at enhancing the rights, opportunities, and social integration of the deaf community amidst Nigeria’s evolving socio-economic landscape.
