Digital Transformation on Procurement Efficiency in Kogi State Ministry of Education

The paper determine the effect of digital transformation on procurement efficiency in Kogi State Ministry of Education. Specifically the paper sought to: determine the effect of technology adoption on procurement efficiency in Kogi State Ministry of Education and explore the effect of process automation on procurement efficiency in Kogi State Ministry of Education. A survey design was used and used a population of thirty-two (32) staff of Ministry of education in education which is made up of procurement officers, departmental heads, IT personnel, administrative staff, and Finance/Accounts Staff within the Ministry. The study found that technological adoption and process automation have a significant affect procurement efficiency in Kogi State Ministry of Education. The study concluded that among the other dimensions of digital transformation examined, technological adoption and process automation has a significant and positive impact on procurement efficiency in the Kogi State Ministry of Education. While process automation showed positive but statistically insignificant effects, data and technological adoption is driven decision-making in enhancing procurement performance, and suggests the need for more effective implementation of the other digital transformation components. The study recommended among others that The Kogi State Ministry of Education should invest in advanced procurement technological adoption, such as e-procurement systems, to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors by providing adequate training to procurement staff to maximize technology utilization.
